Bicitekas
Network that gathers people from different backgrounds under the common goal of working for a bike friendly city with proper urban infraestructure.
Bicitekas is a network that brings together people from different ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexuality, ethnicity, religions and ideologies that promote the use of the bicycle as a healthy, efficient and environmentally friendly means of transportation, improves social interaction and social health, and helps in the appropriation of public space and the development of citizenship. They have organised two national congresses, were advisors of the City Government in the development of its Bicycle Mobility Strategy and brought the discussion about the bicycle and the city to public discussion and to the attention of the public policy makers. They have also been the basis and network core of many other environmental civil initiatives.
