The Alfred Herrhausen Society’s “topics laboratory” assists in developing the focal points of its future work
Cooperation with our partners in research, business, politics, the media and cultural community, from Germany and abroad, offers a great wealth of ideas and a broad range of perspectives.
Thanks to this international network, the Alfred Herrhausen Society can always react quickly to current developments.
Le Grand Paris in Berlin
In collaboration with the Cité de l’architecture, the Alfred Herrhausen Society and the Kunstbibliothek, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin the Institut français d’Allemagne in Berlin presents the ideas of the international design discussions “Le Grand Pari(s) de l’agglomération parisienne” (The Great Challenge of Greater Paris).
The event will offer an opportunity to debate the theme of “Grand Paris in Berlin – the Future of our Cities” based on developments since the exhibition at the Palais de Chaillot ended, bringing them up to date, as well as broadening perspectives and integrate the debates that are taking place in Berlin and the world.
Berlin is entering a new phase of urban change and must face the great urban challenges of the years ahead by exploring questions such as how to meaningfully use sites for example the former airports Tempelhof and Tegel, or how to connect Potsdamer Platz and Kulturforum.
The exhibition in the foyer of the Kulturforum Potsdamer Platz (Matthäikirchplatz, Berlin) runs from 29 January to 8 May 2011 and provides a frame for debates, lectures and meetings to explore the design of 21st-century metropolises.
